Orange Box Games, What Made Them So Good

Hello everybody! In today’s blog, I want to talk about the Orange Box which was a very successful game bundle and why I think it was so good.

The game bundle, was developed and published by Valve corp. The games that were included in the bundle, were Half life 2 episode 1 and 2, Team Fortress 2 and Portal.

It was a huge success back then, and that’s why I liked it so much. In this game-pack, Half life 2 is so much better then the first game. Team fortress 2 is an original game due to the fact that it has a unique art style which is more cartoon like than other similar style games, which are more realistic. That’s why I like it so much. In addition, the game Portal, which once was (and still is) a revolutionary game, is still one of my favorite games to play.
I remember enjoying all the games in the bundle. I think that all the games in that bundle were just OUTSTANDING! and so do many others. Because people liked it so much, the Orange Box became very popular. Even to this day I’m still playing the games which were included, and I enjoy them very much.

I hope you enjoyed reading my blog, if you want to share your experience feel free to comment :) have a great day!

Team Fortress 2: Valve’s Greatest Mistake

Hello everyone, in today’s blog I want to talk about what I think was Valve’s (the creator of the game) biggest mistake in the game “Team Fortress 2”. This mistake is of course, the ‘Meet Your Match’ update.

This update, which was launched in July 7, 2016ruined the game’s experience for me. I mean, before the update, you could join to a game server in a matter of few seconds. You could either join your favorite team or just watch the game.
Now, finding a match takes much longer. I remember times when I was waiting for a match for about an hour or so and when I finally found a match, I accidently cancelled my queue and that was very annoying. In addition, the teams are not properly balanced following this update since you can’t choose your team anymore, and people usually leave the game in the middle. You could no longer watch the active game. Moreover, they added a “competitive mode” which takes about 10 minutes to find a single competitive match!

There are other things I didn’t like with this update. Basically, they made the game much worse.

After 2 years, Valve sort of fixed it thanks to some good updates, though the game is still very unbalanced and not so fun to play as it was before…

So thanks for reading my blog. And hope you are having a great day :)

Portal Games: One of My Favorite Game Series'

It's been a while since I started playing portal 1 and 2, and I have to say, its one of my favorite video games out there!

The series was created by Valve corp (one of the biggest gaming companies). The first one was made in 2007 and the second one was made in 2011.

The series revolves around a woman called Chell who is forced to solve puzzle tests inside 'test chambers' which are given to her by a malicious artificial intelligence computer known as “GLaDOS”. In the game, you get a “portal gun”, that can create a human sized wormhole which connects between any two surfaces such as walls.
In the games, you need to solve tests using the portal gun. In some parts of the story, you need to escape from GLaDOS's test chambers in order to destroy her, and these are the most exciting parts in both games. These parts are my favorites!
The game is both fun and hard. It's basically a game of mind skills. Many times, especially in the sequel (portal 2) you have to think ‘outside of the box’ and it’s sometimes pretty hard to solve. For instance, I remember I was stuck for about an hour on a single level and I didn’t know what to do. Just before I gave in, I realized finally what should I do.

I have so many positive opinions about both portal games. They are both looking great, have an amazing gameplay, the concept is fresh and creative and the plot twists are brilliant but most importantly - they are really fun to play J

So thanks for reading my blog. I hope you'll try this game and enjoy the game as much as I do and hope you are having a great time :)
