Team Fortress 2: Valve’s Greatest Mistake

Hello everyone, in today’s blog I want to talk about what I think was Valve’s (the creator of the game) biggest mistake in the game “Team Fortress 2”. This mistake is of course, the ‘Meet Your Match’ update.

This update, which was launched in July 7, 2016ruined the game’s experience for me. I mean, before the update, you could join to a game server in a matter of few seconds. You could either join your favorite team or just watch the game.
Now, finding a match takes much longer. I remember times when I was waiting for a match for about an hour or so and when I finally found a match, I accidently cancelled my queue and that was very annoying. In addition, the teams are not properly balanced following this update since you can’t choose your team anymore, and people usually leave the game in the middle. You could no longer watch the active game. Moreover, they added a “competitive mode” which takes about 10 minutes to find a single competitive match!

There are other things I didn’t like with this update. Basically, they made the game much worse.

After 2 years, Valve sort of fixed it thanks to some good updates, though the game is still very unbalanced and not so fun to play as it was before…

So thanks for reading my blog. And hope you are having a great day :)
